Morinda citrifolia is a famous herb in the South Pacific islands and is commonly referred to as noni. It has aroused enthusiasm within the naturopathy health industry for its benefits in both prevention and self-help for many health problems.
The known benefits of noni have been recorded in the South Pacific, China and the Caribbean. Noni plant has been used for 1,500 years as a source of health remedy by native Polynesians.
For more 200 years, noni leaves, roots, bark, flowers and fruit have been used to prepare effective remedies for hundreds of diseases and health challenges with incredible results. Noni contains natural vitamins, minerals, trace elements, enzymes, beneficial alkaloids, co-factors and plant sterols. In addition, the noni leaves and roots contain the full spectrum of amino acids, which makes derivatives from these parts the perfect source of complete protein.
How does Noni works
Noni actually works with a complimentary or synergistic effect of all its potent natural ingredients working together as a team or ochestra.
Noni has been traditionally used to relief pain, sinus, infections, arthritis, digestive disorders, colds, flu, headaches, migraines, infections, menstrual problems, injuries, skin disorders, heart disease, diabetes mellitus and many more. Traditional practitioners often softened the leaf over an open flame, let it cool, and then applied it to the skin to treat tumors or infection.
Today, many traditional uses of noni seem to be confirmed by modern science. It has been researched at leading institutions in France, the Netherlands, Germany, Ireland, Taiwan, Austria and Canada. In the United States a great deal of work was done at the University of Hawaii and the prestigious National Academy of Sciences.
Research indicates noni is truly useful for a wide variety of conditions, including:
- Producing unique anti-pain and anti-inflammation effects
- Regulating cell function and cellular regeneration of damaged cells
- Stimulating and enhancing the immune system
- Inhibiting the growth of cancerous tumors
- Generating adaptogenic properties
