Most back pain result from pressure to the nerves in the lower back region of the body. The pressure may be caused by abnormality in the surrounding muscles and its network, irregularity of the nerve itself, problem in the spinal cord or other areas.
Muscle strain is the leading cause of backache. This happens when our lower back is exposed to sudden or strenuous activities. For example, when playing badminton, tennis or golf we might be unaware that we are engaged in quick, sudden moves repeatedly or when we lift heavy objects using the wrong technique.
Deep seated emotional or stress-related problem could also cause muscle strain.
